A congressional staffer has lost her job after posting on Facebook that she wished that Thomas Crooks, the shooter who attempted to kill Donald Trump had a successful hit.

A staffer for Mississippi Democratic rep Bennie G. Thompson has been fired from her job after posting on social media that she wished Thomas Matthew Crooks, the suspected shooter at the Donald Trump Pennsylvania rally, had taken “shooting lessons.”

Trump was grazed on his right ear by a bullet after suspected shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, opened fire on the crowd assembled in Butler, Pennsylvania just moments after a confrontation with law enforcement. Before he was killed by Secret Service agents, he also struck and killed a spectator and critically injured two others.

As more has been revealed about Crooks, who has been described as a “bullied loner,” it has also been revealed that Trump moving his head to the side at the last minute to address charts on a jumbotron might have saved his life from the bullet from the shooter.

However, while most are expressing gratitude Trump survived the shooting and condemning the violence, others have taken a different approach.

One such person was Jacqueline Marsaw, the field director for Congressman Thompson, who was removed from her job after a Facebook post where she expressed that she wished shooter Crooks had had better aim on Trump.

In a series of posts, Marsaw, 61, wrote “I don’t condone violence but please get some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops that wasn’t me talking,” she wrote initially.

After then posting that she felt it was a staged attack, she also added “That’s what your hate speech got you!!”

The since deleted posts have gone viral, and Thopson released a statement shortly after saying she had been fired.

“I was made aware of a post made by a staff member and she is no longer in my employment,” he said.

May expressed fury over the posts before her firing, also noting that Thompson, was the congressman who, in April, introduced a resolution that would cut off Secret Service protection for imprisoned presidents.
