Big Brother Naija season 9

The popular reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, is returning for its season 9, with the winner set to take home a grand prize of N100 million and a new SUV.

Busola Tejumola, the executive head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, announced at a news conference on Tuesday in Lagos that the show will commence on July 28.

Tejumola explained that this year’s edition, which will span 71 days, promises to be filled with excitement and drama.

“The show will run from July 28 to October 6,” Tejumola said. “A challenging aspect this season is that housemates will enter the house in pairs and tackle some of the challenges as pairs.”

She encouraged viewers curious about the theme to tune in for the premiere on Sunday, July 28, highlighting that the show will be packed with fun, vibes, emotions, drama, dynamics, and intriguing twists.

Tejumola also mentioned that Big Brother Naija Buzz, hosted by Toke Makinwa, will be available for fans to catch behind-the-scenes content. “There will be something unveiled on the night of the premiere. We will not be having the head-of-house challenge as usual; there will be lots of twists from Big Brother,” she said. She confirmed that the pool party and Saturday night party will continue, and the show will air 24 hours a day.

Additionally, Tope Oshunkeye, the company’s head of marketing, introduced some of the lucky games that will run during the show. He highlighted a game called “Lock-in,” which allows viewers to predict winners of the immunity challenge, with each correct prediction earning N1 million.

Oshunkeye noted that viewers from the last edition of the show received rewards totaling N120 million.
