Nigerians Put Minister To Task Over ₦1.5m Fuel Expense For Anambra Trip (Video)
Nigeria’s embattled Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye has fired critics dragging her for using ₦1.5m to fuel her six-car convoy from Abuja to Anambra State.
Defending herself on Channels TV News, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye justified her actions by saying ₦1.5M on fuel is not a big deal.
She pointed out that many vehicles embarked on the said trip with “staff in the bus, two security vehicles, one DSS and one police, my vehicle and the backup… about six vehicles went all the way to Anambra State for a job and came back. What is ₦1.5M? for fueling? Everybody knows how much fuel cost since I came in.”

The development has since sparked reactions on X. While some netizens agreed with the minister, many are of the opinion that the minister was not considerate in her spending. See some comments below:

Felle said, “For a trip to Anambra from Abuja, you’d have to fill your tank at least twice. That’s 600k for the 6 cars. To and from Anambra will be 600k x2= N1.2m. That’s how weak the naira is. I’m not holding brief for her, though.”
