The Zulum family for the first time speaks out in public on the claim that a son of the Borno governor was involved in a murder incident in India.

Muhd, the son of Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, has addressed reports alleging that his brother, Umar Zulum Umara, was arrested for killing a Chinese national during a fight over a woman at a nightclub in India.

Taking to Twitter, Muhd wrote: “May Allah guide you from evil tongues and false accusations. #prayfortruth #stoprumours.”

According to Sahara Reporters, Umar, a student at a university in New Delhi, allegedly smashed a bottle of alcoholic drink on a Chinese man who was interested in the same woman as the governor’s son. The incident reportedly occurred two weeks ago while Governor Zulum, along with the governors of Adamawa and Yobe, was in Pakistan attending a post-insurgency workshop.

However, just as the son, Governor Zulum has renounced the reports as unfounded.

The accusations have sparked widespread speculation, but Muhd’s response calls for calm and urges people to refrain from spreading rumors. As the situation unfolds, the focus remains on seeking the truth and addressing the allegations responsibly.

GWG.ng reports that the reaction from the governor’s son is coming in the wake of nationwide reports of the involvement of his brother in the alleged fatal incident that led to the death of the Chinese national.

Remarkably, Governor Zulum has since dismissed the report bringing calm to many stakeholders who had in the past appraised his high performance in office.
