Contrary to rampant social media speculation, Seun Okinbaloye, Channels TV anchor of Politics Today has not left the services of the station. The truth was confirmed by Farooq Kperogi, a respected professor of Mass Communication and well-known newspaper columnist, after a direct conversation with Okinbaloye.

Kperogi revealed that he personally spoke with Seun Okinbaloye on Saturday morning who said he remains the anchor of the programme. During their conversation, Okinbaloye confirmed that he is currently on vacation in the United States and remains an employee of Channels TV.

To address the rumors, Kperogi shared on Facebook:

“Channels TV’s Seun Okinbaloye has NOT been fired, contrary to social media rumors making the rounds.

I communicated with him a few hours ago, and he said he is on vacation here in the United States and still very much in the employ of Channels TV. ‘Prof, the whole story is fake news,’ he said.”

This clarification puts to rest the false claims about Okinbaloye’s employment status, assuring viewers that he remains a valued member of the Channels TV team.

GWG.ng reports that Seun Okinbaloye as the anchor of the Channels Television weekday show, Politics Today has ascended to one of the leading lights in the Nigerian news space often crafting his work with the versatility that comes with years of experience as a journalist.
