Abuja, July 21, 2024 (NAN) A non-governmental organisation under the auspices of Eden Group, has expressed its readiness to distribute E-moringa organic fertiliser to farmers across the 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the country.

Dr Ashimashiga Akoloaga, Chairman, Eden Group gave the assurance at a news conference to demonstrte the effectiveness of e-moringa fertiliser, on Saturday in Nyanya, FCT.

Akoloaga said adoption of organic fertilliser by farmers and government in food cultivation would help to save the country from UN-predicted acute hunger in 2025.

He said the gesture was to assist  farmers for the 2024 farming season in spite of shortage of food in all LGAs.

Akoloaga said the exercise was also in regard to the Nigeria agricultural revolution through deliberate support to farmers with E-moringa organic fertilliser for food sufficiency.

The chairman frowned at the unavailability of synthetic fertilliser and hike in price of the products.

He said  that synthetic or chemical fertiliser had affected the entire health of the populace and also contributed to the rejection of Nigeria’s agricultural produce at the international markets.

The chairman identified Moringa as the solid foundation for Nigeria’s health and agricultural integration project while E-moringa fertiliser was nutritional dense supplier for successful agricultural and health products delivery.

“After several considerations of farmers plights, Eden group who has suffered even worse has deliberately and manually produced a 100 per cent organic fertilliser using Moringa Oleifera Extract or waste to support the farmers.

“This will regenerate the dead nutrients in our farms by the bad effects of synthetic/chemical fertiliser which has also affected our entire health,” he said.

Akoloaga encouraged government to  explore and adopt organic fertilliser to ensure food sufficiency and security and safeguard the country from acute hunger in 2025 as predicted by the United Nation.

He further encouraged farmers to utilise E-moringa organic fertilliser which he described as cheaper and healthier.

“We have the strength to manually produce and save the country from acute hunger coming to Nigeria that was predicted by UN,”he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Eden group comprises of Eden Morings Production and Marketers Ltd and Eden Group Farmer’s Multipurpose Cooperative Society.

Others are Eden Pharmaceuticals and Drugs Production, E-moringa Food and Logistics, Moringa Farmers and Manufacturers Association amd Eden Industrial and Constructions Ltd. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
