What To Do With This Thing Called “Palliatives”?

There is nothing wrong with palliatives, per se; palliatives are just a form of social security, indeed, a fulcrum of the safety net, all over the world.

It is, as such, a construct of progressivism geared towards ensuring that no citizen is left behind to be trounced by the vicititudes of life on account of their lack of means to sustain themselves and their own.

Unfortunately, palliatives have proven to be little better than a conduit pipe for corruption through which government officials simply steal what is meant for the poor.

President Tinubu obviously means well with such initiatives to assist the most vulnerable amongst us for the purpose of rendering succour to the poorest of the poor, and weakest of the weak – that’s just the kind of person he is.

Unfortunately, those charged with the task are such kleptomaniacs that what should have been a most laudable program has basically lost all credibility.
