Emmanuel Obasi, the ex-husband of Nollywood actress Judy Austin, who is now married to fellow actor Yul Edochie, has made an emotional plea to Nigerians for help in regaining custody of his children.

In a video circulating online, Obasi claims that he has not seen his kids in over ten years and alleges that Judy is using their children to frustrate him because she knows how much he loves them.

Obasi expressed deep concern for the well-being and upbringing of his children, stating that Judy has abandoned them to focus on her children with Yul Edochie. He called on Nigerians to assist him in his quest to gain custody, emphasizing how much his children mean to him.

“Judy is frustrating me with these children because she knows I love them. A father like me, how will I be looking at myself? I have children of 16 years old and 14 years old, and I don’t have access to them. This year will make it ten years since I last sighted my children. How will I cope? Anytime I wake up with that mindset, I lose concentration. It’s becoming unbearable now. She is not with them; I am not with them. The upbringing of these children matters to me,” Obasi lamented.

This isn’t the first time Obasi has spoken out about his struggle for custody. In 2022, he revealed that he had spent significantly on Judy’s education, only for her to begin a relationship with Yul Edochie in 2012 while they were still married. Judy later left their home with the children after Obasi refused to buy her a house in Enugu.

Judy Austin rose to public attention following her affair and subsequent marriage to Yul Edochie, who was previously married to May Edochie, the mother of his four children. This affair led to the dissolution of Yul’s marriage, with May filing for divorce and demanding N100 million from Judy, as well as obtaining a restraining order and full custody of their children.

Judy has since addressed her relationship with Yul, claiming they met years after her first marriage ended in 2013 and denying allegations of infidelity during her marriage to Obasi. Judy and Yul have since started their own family and are parents to two sons, Star Dikeh and Pete Ndubuisi Yul Edochie.

This ongoing custody battle and the allegations surrounding it continue to draw significant public interest and concern.
