Nationwide protest

Ahead of the nationwide protest against hardship in Nigeria, a young Nigerian man has sent a message to the police force and Nigerian Armed Forces.

The young man who identifies as @denglishalaji on TikTok, in a live video, bared his heart concerning the hardship in Nigeria.

He bemoaned that everyone is affected and should be involved in the nationwide protest.

Addressing the police, he emphasized that the protest should be a peaceful one, hence no life should be lost.

In his words, “Do your job, ensure your guns are not carrying life bullets, no soul must die. It’s a peaceful protest, we are not going to tumble Nigeria, we are all in this mess together.

“We are going to demand for our rights to save us and you too because I know that your salaries cannot pay your children’s school fees.

“It cannot buy you bag of rice, bag of garri, bag of semo and you are a police officer, you are a military man, air force, navy, civil defence.”

He lamented that despite all that the Nigerian Armed Forces suffer to defend the nation, the hardship has also affected them making it hard for them to feed.

He further bemoaned that Nigerians who were doctors, barristers … have left the country to other countries to become cleaners, security men…. because of the hardship in the country.

He stressed, “Nigerians are going out to save this country from where this country has never been before.”

GWG.ng reports that the message from the young man is coming amid warnings from the Presidency against the nationwide protest.

In a lengthy tweet published on his X account on Saturday, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, alleged that the sponsors of the protests were not democrats but anarchists.

“If they understand the meaning of their hashtags, they will realise they are clarion calls for treason. Wanting to end an elected government is high treason. Wanting revolution is a call for a coup d’etat, which is also high treason,” the presidential aide said.
