DJ Cuppy Expresses Gratitude and Faith Following Grandmother’s Passing

Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has expressed her appreciation to the public following the death of her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Celicia Abosede Atta, who passed away at the age of 90.

On Tuesday, DJ Cuppy announced the sad news via her Instagram story, sharing heartfelt prayers for the soul of her grandmother to rest in peace. DJ Cuppy highlighted how her grandmother had profoundly influenced her mother, and in turn, shaped who she is today. Cuppy described her grandmother as a formidable woman who lived a remarkable life, and she acknowledged the comfort she finds in her enduring spirit during this period of change.

In a subsequent post on her Instagram page, Cuppy expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and love she has received. She shared her Christian faith as a source of solace, saying, “Thank you all for your support. As a Christian, I find comfort in knowing there is life after death. Love you all.”

Cuppy’s bond with her grandmother was evidently strong. After her engagement to British boxer Ryan Taylor ended, she found solace in her family, particularly leaning on the wisdom and support of her grandmother. Earlier this year, DJ Cuppy revealed a conversation with her grandmother that transformed her perspective on relationships, reminding her of her innate capacity for love and encouraging her to give love another chance.
