Nancy Isime Reacts To Call For Ban On New Movie By Muslim Group
Nollywood actress Nancy Isime, has spoken after the Muslim community in Nigeria bashed her for wearing a niqab in a robbery scene in an upcoming movie, titled “Three Working Days.”
GWG.ng earlier reported that an outrage was sparked by the Muslim community after the Nollywood actress shared pictures of a bank heist scene from the movie dressed in Muslim attire on Instagram on Monday which she captioned, “Life Lately.”
The pictures revealed her in a niqab ( a veil worn by some Muslim women in public, covering all of the faces, apart from the eyes), wielding guns in what seems to be a bank robbery scene.
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) had called for an immediate ban of the movie which it described as “satanic, repugnant, and provocative,” warning that it could incite public hostility towards Muslim women and ridicule the Muslim community at large.”
Hours after The MURIC reacted, Nancy took to her X handle, @NancyIsime6 to issue a statement which reads, “Coming Out Soon….#LifeOfAnActor.”
GWG.ng reports that the actress posted the statement alongside a picture of her in the said gangster/Muslim attire in the movie, Three Working Days.
