The Senator representing Borno South, Mohammed Ali Ndume, has stated that he would remain a member of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) on the condition that Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum remains in the party.

Ndume said this on Thursday at his residence in Maiduguri while addressing a group of women supporters who vowed to stage a peaceful naked protest at the National Assembly against his removal as Chief Whip of the Senate

“And so, I want to categorically state that I am one of the founding members of the APC. Our leader, Governor Zulum, is in the APC, and wherever our governor is, that is where I belong.”

Speaking on behalf of the groups, Pastor Moni Mushari quoted John 8:31, saying, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

Pastor Mushari expressed their strong support for Senator Ndume for “speaking the truth.”

GWG.ng earlier reported that Ndume was removed as Chief Whip for criticizing the President Bola Tinubu-led government, following a letter sent to the Senate by the national leadership of the APC.

He was also removed as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations while the upper lawmaking body offered him a new appointment as chairman of the Committee on Tourism, which he rejected.
