Osimhen's agent on Chelsea move

Roberto Calenda, the agent for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, has dismissed claims that the Nigerian forward is set to join Chelsea on loan.

Osimhen’s future at Napoli is a hot topic, with various reports creating confusion about the Super Eagles striker’s next steps. On Tuesday morning, The Athletic suggested that the 25-year-old might join Chelsea on a season-long loan with an option to buy. This move could benefit both clubs by allowing Romelu Lukaku to reunite with Antonio Conte.

Currently, Osimhen has been excluded from Napoli’s pre-season games, hinting at a possible departure. However, clubs have balked at the high release clause of 120 million euros.

Despite the seeming logic behind the loan idea, the agent of Osimhen, Roberto Calenda, has strongly denied this possibility. “I read about ‘fantasy exchanges’ with Victor as if he was a package to be delivered quickly,” Calenda stated. “This package is the top scorer of the third Scudetto in the history of Napoli. Respect and stop fake news!”

While it’s uncertain if Osimhen will move to Chelsea this summer, the Blues’ eagerness to offload Lukaku might lead to some form of agreement.

Osimhen, who scored 17 goals in all competitions for Napoli last season despite injuries, would undoubtedly be a valuable addition to most European teams.
