Within hours to the planned nationwide protest against hunger, the Lagos State Police Command anti-bomb squad said it successfully deactivated a bomb in the Ikeja area of the state.

The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to PUNCH Online on Wednesday.

He said that the improvised bomb device, which was wrapped in a bag, was dropped by the roadside from an unregistered vehicle along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way.
