Senator Ireti Kingibe Demands Apology From Wike Over Insults
Senator Ireti Kingibe says mutual respect would be the basis of her future relationship with the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike
The Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ireti Kingibe, has stated that she would not work with the minister of the federal capital territory, Nyesom Wike, until he apologizes for insulting her.
Recall that Senator Kingibe criticized Wike’s performance in the FCT and complained that she was being sidelined in the running of the FCT by Wike.
In reaction, the FCT minister had defended his works in the FCT, and told her to go and hang herself if she couldn’t see his ‘good works’.
He said, “If you don’t want or you are angry about that, go and hang yourself on a transformer.
However, while speaking on a Channels TV’s platform, Political Paradigm, on Tuesday, Senator Kingibe said she is willing to work with Wike if he apologizes for his reckless statement.
She said, “Well, I am actually willing to do everything to work with the Minister of the FCT as long as he apologises first for saying I should go hang on a transformer. Once he does that, it’s all over, we can start afresh but until then, as far as I am concerned everybody, stay in your lane.
“I mean with all due respect, I am so much older than him, even curtsy demands he shouldn’t speak to me like that and I was also elected by the people. I did not get up from my sitting room and say “Here I am, please do this for the people”, I am only conveying their message to the people. I am the voice of the people and that should be respected.”
