Bauchi: Police Deploy Teargas To Disperse Protesters From Emir’s Palace (Video)

In a tense standoff, police in Bauchi resorted to firing teargas to disperse a large crowd of protesters who had gathered to decry the escalating cost of living in the state.
The demonstrators, numbering in the hundreds, had converged on the Emir’s palace, seeking an audience with the traditional ruler to air their grievances.
As the protesters approached the palace, security forces deployed teargas in an attempt to break up the crowd. The sudden use of force sent demonstrators scrambling for safety, with many seen fleeing the scene to avoid the irritating gas.
