BBNaija: Tjay Narrowly Escapes Drowning During Pool Party (Video)
Tjay, a contestant in season 9 of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show had a frightening near-drowning incident during the show’s Thursday night pool party. The housemates had kicked off their first party in Biggie’s house, engaging in the usual activities of eating, drinking, and dancing.
As the party continued, some of the housemates were having a lively time in the pool when Tjay, whose full name is Tunji Adeniji-Soji, suddenly appeared to lose his balance. In a now-viral video, the 33-year-old doctor is seen struggling to stay afloat, clearly battling to maintain his footing and balance in the water.
The dangerous situation went unnoticed until Ben, Tjay’s partner in the house, spotted him struggling to keep his head above water. Without hesitation, Ben rushed to Tjay’s aid, rescuing him from the perilous situation.
This year’s BBNaija season premiered on July 28, introducing 28 housemates paired up into 14 teams. The show is set to run for 71 days, concluding on October 6, with the winner set to receive a grand prize of N100 million.
Currently, all pairs of housemates are up for potential eviction, except for team Beta (Ben and Tjay), who won immunity, and Ndi Nne (Chinne and Nne), who hold a special status as custodians of the house. Additionally, the Mbadiwe Twins, who secured the first heads of house (HoH) title, are also at risk of eviction following Biggie’s unexpected twist.
