Hoodlums Attack Women At #EndBadGovernance Protest In Delta State

As the #EndBadGovernance protest entered Day 2, hoodlums on Friday attacked and chased away protesters from Enerhen Junction, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The attackers were reportedly armed with sticks, daggers, cutlasses, knives, and stones.

One protester, who identified herself as Edafe, spoke to newsmen in Asaba, Delta State’s capital. She explained that the peaceful protest was disrupted while the women were chanting songs and urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government to provide food and restore hope for citizens.

Edafe said, “We had to run away because we didn’t want to be injured. Delta State belongs to all of us. Why are the hoodlums coming after us? Why are they not protesting themselves? But no problem, the election will come again. We know who is behind these attacks on us. The police at Enerhen Junction helped rescue us.”

As of now, no suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack.
