Olympics: ‘This Is Unjust’ Female Boxer Cries, Quits After Being Paired With ‘Biological Male’ (Videos)

A controversy has been sparked on social media after Italian Boxer, Angela Carini was paired to box against a biological male Imane Khelif from Algeria during the ongoing Olympics in Paris, France

She quit the game after just 45 seconds and cried hysterically as her opponent was declared the winner.

According to reports, Khelif is a biological man who failed gender eligibility tests at the 2023 World Championships.

Carini shouted “this is unjust” as she slammed her headgear as the fight was called off.

“I’m used to suffering. I’ve never taken a punch like that, it’s impossible to continue. I’m nobody to say it’s illegal,” she said to reporters through tears.

“I got into the ring to fight. But I didn’t feel like it anymore after the first minute. I started to feel a strong pain in my nose. I didn’t give up, but a punch hurt too much and so I said enough. I’m leaving with my head held high.”

It was a dark moment of Carini at the Olympics. Her coach also told reporters that she may have broken her nose.

Viral videos circulating on the internet showed Carini refusing to shake Khelif’s hand after Khelif was declared winner.

steven cryne said, “4 hard years and more she’s worked for this and to fight a guy. Should never be allowed.”

Hamza Bekheira differed in opinion, “Both are women. Don’t judge a book by its cover. There is a committee, doctors, and examinations that gave her the right to participate. So don’t justify the loss of the Italian by attacking Khalifa under a flimsy.”

@ashleygxn said, “Khelif stopped briefly to speak to the BBC: “I am here for gold,” the Algerian said. “I will fight anybody, I will fight them all.”

“If you wanna win a gold medal with honour, compete as a male.”

 @koehlerpj said, “A travesty, so much hard work gone to waste! This Olympics is a disgrace from start to finish! This should NEVER have been allowed to happen! Good on Carini for not shaking hands. Why should she be a sportsman when the opponent isn’t?”

Everline Aketch said, “I think man has lost senses totally and Olympic organisers are a sick group, shameless and disgraceful to our generation and the fore fathers who initiated the competition.”

GWG.ng recalls that this is not the first time a controversy will be erupting from the ongoing 2024 Olympics.

At the opening ceremony of the Olympics currently taking place at Paris, organizers of the event offended Christians by a controversial scene.

This segment featured drag queens, a transgender model, and a singer dressed as the Greek god of wine, alluding to Leonardo da Vinci’s painting, The Last Supper.

Performed against the scenic backdrop of the River Seine, the act aimed to depict Dionysus and highlight “the absurdity of violence between human beings.”

However, the portrayal sparked significant outrage among Catholics, Christian groups, and conservative politicians worldwide, prompting the committee to apologise.

The world is watching in earnest wait to see how the controversial issue will be resolved between Carini and Khelif.
