Despite President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 37-point address to the nation on Sunday, protesters in Benin City, Edo State, remained undeterred, taking their demonstration to a new level by conducting a church service in the middle of the road.

Watch the video below;

The move is seen as a bold statement by the protesters, who have been vocal about their dissatisfaction with the government’s response to their demands. Many Nigerians have taken to social media to express their disappointment with the President’s speech, accusing him of failing to address the root causes of the protests and ignoring the protesters’ demands.

The church service, which was held on the fourth day of the protests, was attended by a large number of protesters, who sang hymns and prayed for a better Nigeria. The scene was a powerful symbol of the protesters’ determination to continue their fight for good governance, despite the President’s attempts to appease them.

The protests, which have been ongoing for four days, have seen thousands of Nigerians take to the streets to demand an end to bad governance, corruption, and economic hardship. The protesters have also called for the President to address issues such as fuel subsidy removal, unemployment, and insecurity.

With the protesters in Edo State holding church service as a sign of not backing down, it remains to be seen how the government will respond to their demands. One thing is certain, however: the people will not be silenced, and their voices will continue to be heard until their demands are met.
