Boy Captured In Viral Photo Standing In Front Of Moving Police Van During Nationwide Protest Gifted N1m (Video)

A boy from Borno state, Bashir Tijani, captured in a striking photo fearlessly standing in front of a moving police van, protesting against hunger and the general hardship in the country, has been gifted the sum of N1m and a school scholarship, by a Nigerian comedian, Agozi Samuel.

The viral image which was captured on the first day of the  #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest, resonated bravery with Nigerians, nationwide.

When Tijani was asked in Hausa language what gave him the boldness to come before police officers without the fear of being shot or wounded by them, he said it’s because of the hunger and lack of jobs in the nation.

In a video posted by Arewa Blog, he said, “I came out to protest because of hunger, the government’s inability to provide jobs, and I was not afraid of being arrested by the police.”

The comedian, Agozi Samuel, among others who were touched with the boy’s bravery, searched him out to and made a promise to appreciate him.

Agozi Samuel confirmed that he has fulfilled his promise to Tijani with a post on his Facebook handle, alongside a receipt of payment. 

He wrote, “I just fulfilled my promise to this little boy, and by the weekend I will meet with him at Borno to register him in a private boarding school.”

Agozi Samuel highlighted, “Irrespective that he’s not from the south east, we are all one Nigeria. And he will be my adopted son and I will make sure he gets a good life. 

“This is a fearless boy in the face of the military and I will make sure he becomes educated.”

Agozi Samuel advised Nigerians to stay away from violent protest. “As we pray for a better Nigeria It can only get better. Please, say No to Violence Protest.”
