Nigeria’s Blessing Oborududu has advanced to the semi-finals in the women’s 68kg wrestling category at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Oborududu secured her place by defeating French competitor Koumba Larroque with a score of 6-2 in their quarter-final bout.

Her progress to the semi-finals ensures that she will leave Paris 2024 with a medal.

In an earlier match, the African champion overcame Canadian wrestler Linda Morais.

Despite a slow start, conceding two points, Oborududu made a strong comeback in the second half. She scored six consecutive points to win the bout with a final score of 8-2.

Oborududu will compete again later this evening.
