A video showing Nigerian Politician, Chris Uba, physically assaulting artisans who demanded payment after working for him in his London Home, is trending on social media.

Powerful Nigerian politician, Chief Chris Uba who won disputed acclaim after locking up Governor Chris Ngige of Anambra State in 2003 is trending after a video of him engaged with artisans who worked for him in the United Kingdom, UK.

The video showed him arguing with artisans who claimed that he refused to pay them after they did work for him in his London home. The nature of the work and value of the debt was not stated.

GWG.ng reports that in the video one of the artisans was heard accusing Uba who was dressed in an orange T-Shirt of refusing to pay for the work they did in his house. He warned that Uba would be reported to the police.

In response, Uba was heard bellowing on them to leave his house and went further to try grabbing the camera being used to record the altercation. He was apparently unsuccessful.

Comments on social media has been very unfriendly with commenters affirming that Chris Uba would likely fall into trouble with the UK police over the development.

Some were saying that had such an incident happened in Nigeria that the artisans would have been locked up by the politician’s orderlies.

Chris Uba came into national consciousness in 2003 when with the assistance of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, tried to coerce Governor Chris Ngige to resign after barely four months in office.

Chris Uba was hailed at that time as having used his political acumen to enthrone almost all political office holders in Anambra State and even facilitated the emergence of Senator Adolphus Wabara as President of the Senate.

Uba’s violent action has since drawn reactions on social media. See some reactions gathered by GWG.ng from X.com:

@MrBharsey said, “This one has actually forgotten he’s not in Nigeria where he’ll use all his connect to frustrate, dehumanize, lock the poor artisan. Their urge to always oppress the poor leaves you asking if they’re human.”

@Penjohn99 said, “They can’t live in a civilized society where the poor is not oppressed. If this was Nigeria the Artisan would have been beaten by his Police escort and arrested, Chris Uba assaulting Artisans.”

Chukwuemeka Azubuike said, “After seeing this; just think back home about how they deny artisans and professionals their pay without being held accountable. Many people who are not even politicians politicians do this.”

One Gun General said, “He still feels entitled. Man think he is in Nigeria. When he is arrested now, you will start hearing ronu people asking Igbo to defend this criminal.”
