Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) are seething with rage over the denial of the reports that their monthly allowance was to be upgraded to reflect the new national minimum wage.

The outrage among the corps members follows the NYSC’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa denial of social media claims that corps members’ allowance was being upgraded in line with the new N70,000 minimum wage.

The NYSC had on Saturday, clarified that no directive has been issued by the relevant authorities to initiate such payments or to modify corps members’ accounts in accordance with the new national minimum wage.

The NYSC emphasized that the information was not based on any official communication and warned corps members, parents, and the general public against falling for such misinformation.
