Man Whose Wife Allegedly Tore His ‘Passport’ Tells New Story, Defends Her (Video)

Man whose wife allegedly tore his passport upon their return from abroad at Murtala International Airport, Lagos, has made a video addressing the matter.
In the video shared on the X platform, the man firmly denied that his wife had destroyed his passport, stating that the document remains intact. He expressed concern about how bloggers and the media have reported the story, asking them to be more responsible in their coverage.
He explained that the video was a skit—a staged act intended to tell a real-life story, not an actual incident involving his documents. The man said that the torn item shown in the video was not his passport, and the entire situation has been misunderstood.
“I’m here with my kids to send a message of appeal to the public of Nigeria, to the whole world also, that what my wife tore is not passport. Please be a blogger, when you are blogging, blog and blog well, don’t blog to spoil things, please. She never tore my passport. She never spoiled my passport. My passport is intact. We are doing a skit. It’s a skit. This is somebody’s story of what happened, that we are passing to the world.”
He called out bloggers for spreading false information, explaining that the whole incident was staged to tell a story and that his passport was never damaged. He also asked the media, including national TV and figures like Daddy Freeze, to understand the real purpose of the video.
He assured everyone that immigration officials have checked his passport and confirmed it is intact, and he asked people not to make the situation worse.
“But I don’t even know that maybe it will go to the way that the blogger will not take it to another standard. Please, I’m begging the national TV, Daddy Freeze, and so many, so many, which I cannot remember. Please, I’m begging everybody. This is not maybe passport she tore. If actually she tore a passport, I was the one that bent down to pick it.
Please, I’m begging everybody now. I believe the immigration have seen my passport, that my passport is intact. Nobody should just try and drag this thing to the mud, please.”
