Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has shared some unconventional advice for women eager to tie the knot.

In an Instagram post, the actor urged ladies not to wait indefinitely for their partners to propose. Instead, he suggested they take matters into their own hands by buying a ring and proposing themselves.

Edochie emphasized that there is nothing wrong with a woman proposing to her partner, stating that the traditional roles in marriage proposals should not hold anyone back. “It doesnā€™t matter who says the words,” he wrote, encouraging women to take charge of their future.

The actor, who is married to Judy Austin, advised women to clarify their relationship status and not waste time waiting. “Know your stand with him. No time,” Edochie added, reminding his followers that time waits for no one.

This advice comes as a bold statement in a society where marriage proposals are typically expected to come from men. Yul Edochie’s message seems not to go well with netizens as they rushed to the comment section to criticize his stand while some questioned if Judy proposed to him.
