One of Nigeria’s leading actresses, Destiny Etiko quashes rumours of an affair between her and the husband of her senior colleague, Omotola Jalade

Destiny Etiko has addressed rumors linking her to an alleged affair with veteran actress Omotola Jalade’s husband, Matthew Ekeinde.

Speculation had been circulating widely, claiming that Etiko was romantically involved with Matthew and that he had even purchased a luxury car for her.

However, during an Instagram Live session, Etiko firmly denied these allegations, labeling them as baseless attempts to damage her reputation.

She stated, “If you want to withhold the blessings of God in somebody else’s life and you want to grow, it is impossible. Before, you guys had always spoken ill about me. Do men give money? Even if they do, I do not know.”

Etiko emphasized that she has worked hard for nearly everything she owns, explaining, “I worked for 99.9% of all I have. I don’t know why some people are bitter, perhaps they are scared. I always buy a car on most of my birthdays because I love to change my car every year.”

She also addressed the specific rumor involving Omotola’s husband, clarifying that the story was based on a photo taken years ago. “Some bitter people just sat down and brought the pictures that I took with Omotola’s husband over four years ago when I was on a flight and he was the pilot,” Etiko explained. “I greeted him with the respect of a senior colleague’s husband and asked for a selfie. We took the photo, and that was it.”

In her response, Destiny Etiko made it clear that there was no truth to the rumors of her involvement with the husband of Omotola adding the claims were nothing more than unfounded gossip.
