Bus Driver Gifted Millions But Publicly Shamed By Wife Refuses Pressure To Do DNA Test For Kids

Oluwasegun Anozie, the bus driver whom Nigerians raised over N2.5 million for after he shared his struggles on social media, has reacted after the public pressed him to do a DNA test to asertain the true paternity of the children birthed by his wife.

In a video, after content creator Asherkine  generously supported Anozie by providing food, a new TV, and covering his children’s school fees, it was discovered that Anozie’s wife had been posing as a single mother online to solicit funds.

Despite the controversy, many Nigerians came together to support Anozie through crowdfunding.

In the video, Anozie shared his daily struggles as a commercial driver, trying to support his family. 

Asherkine, moved by Anozie’s story, offered to fulfill his modest requests—a bag of rice and a new television. 

These were delivered to Anozie’s home, where Asherkine also met his wife and four children. 

Touched by their situation, Asherkine generously offered to pay the children’s school fees and gifted Anozie ₦50,000.

However, it later emerged that Anozie’s wife had been posing online as a single mother, soliciting funds. 

When confronted by netizens, she defended her actions, criticizing her marriage and asserting that her children were her only concern. Despite the controversy, some compassionate Nigerians have rallied around Anozie, launching a crowdfunding campaign to support him.

 A kind X influencer, @john_d_doe, taking up the case posted: “Dear kindhearted people, Please here is the account of Mr. Anozie @AnozieOlusegun. God bless you.” 

Donations started pouring in, with netizens contributing both large and small amounts, steadily raising millions to help Anozie.

The money was more than enough to clear of the N800, 000 debt he was yet to balance for a bus he purchased. Anozie’s joy knew no bounds as he severally took to social media to thank Nigerians for their show of love towards him, up until Monday morning.

In another development, some Nigerians began to pressure Mr Anozie to do a DNA test, considering the dishonest behavior of his wife.

However, in a firm response through his Official X handle, Anozie replied,

“People keep asking me to do DNA test. DNA test is a major distraction for me, I love my children and I will do my best to give them the best education, I don’t have.This is my commitment to them as a father.”
