The Nigerian Police Force has issued an official invitation to Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), for questioning in connection with allegations of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime.

The invitation to the NLC president, signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Adamu S. Mu’azu, on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Department of Force Intelligence (DFI), requires Ajaero to report for an interview on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the IRT Complex located at the Old Abattoir by Guzape Junction, Abuja.

The letter, dated August 19, 2024, noted that Ajaero’s name had come up during investigations related to these serious allegations. The police have requested his presence at 10:00 a.m. sharp, where he is expected to meet with the team leader, whose contact was provided in the letter.

Furthermore, the letter emphasized that failure to honor the invitation would compel the authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest.
