Reactions As Wike Flaunts His Politics Of Integrity (Video)
Fumes have exploded on social media after the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, stated that he plays politics of Integrity.
He said this while addressing a media briefing to mark his one year in office as FCT Minister on Wednesday.
While addressing the press, Wike highlighted the intricacies and unpredictable nature of politics.
He said, ” In politics, you can’t say for sure this is how it will be.”
He opened up that he has no regrets despite the lack of support he is currently getting from a governor he fought for. “I have done my own part with my conscience, I did what I did without regretting and I fought for him to be governor.
“And you now say, look, you are no longer interested to be in a political family. No problem. Nobody can force you. After all, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, was supported by who? Tinubu! Is he still with Tinubu again? Did he support him? After all the president did for him?”
He added, “That’s what politics is. Some people don’t play politics of integrity, I do. But you can’t impose yourself. I’m doing the work Mr. President has given to me.”
While reacting to the ongoing cracks in the PDP, he said “you should know that we must learn. Experience is very key. If you fail to take history into consideration, then you are digging your grave.
“And that’s why I’ve said PDP must be careful. They are trying to make sure we have crisis. For example, anyone who relates with Wike, is a Wike tool. Therefore, the person must go.
“The acting national Chairman of the PDP today is not my friend. He never supported me. The National Secretary, he never supported me. When the National Secretary today wanted to run for governorship against Hope Uzodimma, he came to me for support. I said, ‘I’m not going to support you. I won’t support you.’ I’m not here to play politics. Let the right thing be done.”
