Rejected South Africa Model Chidimma Adetshina Arrives Nigerian Homeland For Succor (Video)

The embattled Miss Universe Nigeria contestant, Chidimma Adetshina, who was forced to withdraw from the Miss South Africa beauty pageant on account of controversies over her Nigerian heritage has arrived in Nigeria.

Chidimma, who was born in South Africa to a Nigerian father and a Mozambiquan mother, arrived the country for Miss the Miss Universe Nigeria Beauty contest.

Upon her arrival, Chidimma Adetshina who has a strong South African accent expressed excitement over being in Nigeria again after 20 years.Ā 

She said, “I don’t have much to say, I’m just really excited that I’m in my father’s land and I want to get to experience more about it. It’s been 20 years since I’ve been here, so I just want to get to know more about the culture and where I really come from.”

Expressing her goal as touching the upcoming contest, Chidimma said, ‘So my goal is obviously to win the crown for Miss Universe Nigeria, and I do have an insight that I want to share with everybody.

“As a woman who has obviously faced adversity, I want to use my story to bring people together. I want us to value diversity and celebrate our differences. By that way we can build a stronger community that benefits everybody.”

After Chidimma withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition amidst controversies surrounding her South African citizenship claims and Nigerian heritage, the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant made a historic decision by officially inviting Ms Adetshina to participate in the upcoming Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 competition.

Last week, she accepted the invitation to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant representing Taraba State where her father is reportedly from.
