How I Won Kogi PDP Governorship Ticket Using ‘Anointing Oil’ – Melaye

Former Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye has expressed deep disappointment with the current state of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that its founding fathers would be disheartened by the actions of the party’s present leadership.

In a strong critique, Dino Melaye listed prominent figures such as Alex Ekwueme, Solomon Lar, Sunday Awoniyi, Adamu Chiroma, Tony Anenih, and Abubakar Rimi as those who would be “turning in their graves” due to what he described as the mismanagement of the PDP by its current leadership.

The Kogi-born politician accused the PDP National Chairman and National Secretary, among others, of steering the party away from its founding principles, effectively mismanaging what was once a national powerhouse in Nigerian politics.

GWG.ng reports that earlier, on Saturday, Dino Melaye declared that the PDP was effectively “dead,” blaming the party’s downfall on the loyalty of its present leadership, mainly its national Chairman and Secretary to former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike. Wike, who now serves as a minister under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government, has been a controversial figure within the PDP.

However , on Sunday, Melaye took to his X page to further lament the state of the party. He wrote, “PDP is the only surviving party of the 4th Republic. After 27 years of surviving all shenanigans. Alex Ekwueme, Solomon Lar, Sunday Awoniyi, Adamu Chiroma, Tony Anenih, Abubakar Rimi, etc., will be turning in their graves seeing what Damagun, Anyanwu, and Bature are doing to the dream of building a national party.”

In a somber conclusion, Melaye declared the “obituary” of the PDP, signaling his belief that the party’s legacy has been tarnished beyond repair.
