Kogi Governor’s Aide, Edi Counters Defection Rumours

Mr Jacob Edi, the Special Adviser, Media and Communications to Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has dismissed news reports of the defection of the governor from the All Progressives Congress, APC to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as a combination of malice and mischief.

Mr Edi spoke in a statement made available to GWG.ng following news reports that colloured the presence of Governor Ododo at the wedding of the daughter of Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State as a defection.

In a statement titled, ‘Beware of the merchants of falsehood,’ Mr Edi said:

It is puerile to suggest that Kogi State Governor , Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will consider defection to another political party, least of all, a sinking one.

Why?

What on earth would be his motive?

HE ODODO is not just a sitting governor but a member of the ruling APC. This is certainly mischief, malice or ignorance elevated to a ridiculous level.

And , oh yes, the highest court in the land just affirmed his authoritative victory at the November 11 gubernatorial election thereby clearing the doubts of his challengers.

For the avoidance of doubt, Governor ODODO will not be drawn into politics of hate. He simply sees politics as a vehicle to convey love, camaraderie and generally advance the course of humanity.

It is instructive to note that, sharing in the joy of a colleague is beyond party or religious affiliation.  I hope these purveyors of deliberate mis information will understand this reality.
