Gbile Akanni Throws Invitation To 2024 Couples Retreat

The Peace House Revival Labours with Gboko-based Bible teacher, Gbile Akanni has thrown open invitations to the 2024 Couples Retreat holding in designated centres in Nigeria and across the world from August 28 to 31.

The 2024 retreat with the theme WHAT GOD HAS JOINED TOGETHER: Understanding The Pivot of Your Matrimony, borne from the text “Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate,” (Mar 10:9, NKJV).

While recounting what God did in the 2023 couples’ retreat, Bro Gbile Akanni said:

“In our last year Couples’ retreat, we were confronted with ‘…And why did He make them one?” in order for us to look at God’s expectation for bringing us into marriage with each other as a man and woman. 

“We saw that originally, God made them “male and female” and called them Adam. There is a female for every male in God’s eternal purpose and your wife is the female of you and you are the male of her. Without her you are incomplete and there will be a grave incompleteness in all you do.”

Throwing more light on the burden of the upcoming 2024 Couples’ retreat, he continued, “There is ‘What God has joined together’ in every couple in matrimony and this is the pivot of their relationship. Unless we understand and take cognizance of it, we may not get the most of this holy estate into which we have come. 

“Surely, this is more than the joining of hands, giving of rings and wearing the same uniform. It is even beyond the joining of your bodies.”

“We shall be waiting on the Lord during this retreat to explore what God has actually and essentially joined together in our matrimony as it forms the pivot in our walk together before Him as husband and wife. 

“It is not about me trying to join anything together with my wife… It is what God has joined together that is the reason for our leaving all to cleave unto each other in marriage.

“And so we shall wait on Him to show us what He has joined together and which we must let not any man put asunder. We trust God that He will show us what He has joined together and why He joined them together.”

Brother Gbile Akanni further highlighted, “Lack of revelation of what God has joined together in your matrimony may be the reason why you could lightly handle your marriage covenant and allow anything to come in between. It is this lack of the knowledge of this mystery that has left our matrimony at the peripheral level of just trying to live together.

” I sense so much awaits us in this ‘Come ye yourselves apart and rest a while’ for ” … What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, fall that) God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. 

“Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God (the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny” (1 Corinthians 2:9- 10AMPC1).

“The Lord will not only open this mystery of your matrimony to you, but He will move you to begin to lay hold of the pivot of this holy estate into which you have come to enter. Knowing what God planned a forehand for joining you together is very key in your walking into your ‘Rehoboth’ and for the heavens to release unto your home such treasures He has kept in store for you. 

“Definitely, this is our season of open heavens. God desires abiding, abundant and abounding fruit-from your union. He has gone ahead to invest you into your spouse and your spouse into you to bring about the maximum output from your matrimony. What God has joined together is deliberate and pivotal; it will be a great injury to put it asunder or to undermine it. Come with an open heart and with unveiled faces. Come for fresh bonding and a renewed cleaving unto each other for the glory ahead. God bless you. 

Ministering at the 2024 couples’ retreat scheduled for AUG 28-31, 2024, will be Bro Gbile Akanni, Dr Sade Akanni and the Peace House Team.

The organizers also disclosed that the retreat will be held at designated couples retreat centers nationwide and globally.

However, the conveners of the couples’ retreat  emphasized that the spouse of the husband or wife must be present in order to attend the retreat.
