Chidimma Adetshina Expresses Reluctance On Returning To South Africa
Former Miss South Africa contestant Chidimma Adetshina has expressed hesitation about returning to South Africa anytime soon, following her withdrawal from the pageant amid controversy.
GWG.ng reports that Adetshina, who faced significant backlash after being announced as a contestant, stepped down from the competition following allegations involving her mother, including fraud and identity theft, brought forward by the Home Office in South Africa.
Adetshina had to choose the option of returning to Nigeria from her South Africa base.
Despite the challenges in South Africa, Adetshina has found new opportunities in Nigeria. She has accepted an invitation to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant and has expressed enthusiasm about staying in the country of her father’s origin.
In an interview with Cool FM Nigeria, Adetshina shared her excitement about being in Nigeria, stating, “I’m not looking forward to going back to South Africa. I want to explore more and stay longer to see what happens next.”
Adetshina’s experience has led her to embrace Nigeria as a potential new home, signaling a fresh start and a new chapter in her pageantry career.
GWG.ng reports that ahead of whenever she may consider returning to South Africa that the issues that forced Adetshina out of the Miss South Africa pageant have turned into a national debate with former South African president Thabo Mbeki chastising the xenophobic inclinations of some of his fellow citizens.
