Army Chief, Lagbaja Counts Gains Of 2024 Combined Conference

The Chief of Army Staff,  Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, has described the feedback from various formation commanders during the combined COAS second and third quarters conference 2024 as encouraging.

Lagbaja noted that as was the case with the first quarter of the conference held in April in Abuja, that the second and third quarters conference provided participants an opportunity to brainstorm and appraise the Nigerian Army on its activities so far in the country.

The army chief stated these shortly before declaring the combined conference close which took place in Uyo , Akwa Ibom State closed on Thursday.

He noted that the various theatre and formation commanders updated the conference on the activities of their forces, and also provided key inputs to the design of their operations to better position them for better results.

   “We also utilized the conference to fine tune our last quarter activities for the year, particularly as we transit to the popular  ’ember months ‘of the year.

 “The conference also enabled us to confirm the level of implementation of our policies and decisions at the last conference. I must say that the feedback from the various commanders is encouraging.

” They showed that the prevailing security challenges facing our dear nation, though daunting, are surmountable and that we are indeed on the right path to victory.

  “I assure Mr president of the unflinching loyalty and commitment of the Nigerian Army to the country’s constitution and promotion of our national interest and values.

” I assure Nigerians of the Nigerian Army’s resolve to continue to collaborate with its sister services and other security agencies to ensure security of lives and properties across the country.

 “I  encourage law-abiding Nigerians to continue to support the government and the security forces in the efforts to make our country safe and prosperous”

 The Chief of Army Staff thanked the conference participants for their patience , sincerity, and passion throughout their deliberations saying, ” I believe that the Secretariat has adequately captured the decisions arrived at during our deliberations and will disseminate them in good time after my approval”
