Doctors Shocked After Removing Knife, Keys, Nail Cutters From Man’s Stomach
Doctors in India’s Bihar, specifically in East Champaran district, successfully removed multiple metal objects from the stomach of a 22-year-old man. The objects included a key ring, a small knife, and two nail cutters.
The man, who had been experiencing severe stomach pain, was brought by his family to a private hospital in Motihari, the district’s main city.
Dr. Amit Kumar, the head of the surgical team, revealed that the young man had been receiving treatment for mental health issues. “X-ray reports showed several metal objects in his stomach,” Dr. Kumar said.
The surgery began with the removal of a key ring. As the procedure continued, doctors also found two keys, a four-inch knife, and two nail cutters in his stomach. “When we questioned the youth, he admitted he had recently started swallowing metal objects. Fortunately, his condition is now improving,” the doctor added.
The patient, who is on medication for his mental health condition, is recovering well and will be discharged from the hospital soon.
