Lagos State Police Command officers have arrested a man for allegedly causing the death of his 47-year-old younger brother.

The incident was confirmed on Saturday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin.

Hundeyin revealed that the case was brought to the police on August 24 by a man, whose identity has been withheld. He reported that Ayodeji Busari, a resident of the Iba area of Lagos, allegedly pushed his younger brother during an altercation.

According to Hundeyin, “The victim, who was visiting from Port Harcourt to see a friend in Lagos, was allegedly pushed down by his brother during a fight.” After the fall, the younger brother hit his head on a pavement and became unconscious.

“The victim was immediately rushed to Igando General Hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, he was later confirmed dead by the doctor on duty,” Hundeyin added.

Police officers visited the scene, took photographs, and removed the body to Mainland General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for an autopsy. Hundeyin also stated, “The case file and suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti-Yaba, for further investigation.”
