Hackers Hijack Kano Hisbah Facebook Page

Suspected hackers have taken over the official Facebook page of Kano Hisbah board and promptly posted pornographic pictures that are in essence the rage that inspires the zeal of the Puritan police.

The hackers since Wednesday have been posting sensual and inappropriate content on the Kano Hisbah Facebook page which has over 82,000 followers.

Some Facebook users who noticed that the page had been hacked have started reporting to Meta.

The Kano Hisbah board has confirmed that the Facebook account has been hacked.

The commander general of the board, Aminu Daurawa, while speaking on the development with TheCable, asked members of the public to report the Facebook page, adding that the board is working towards restoring the account.

He said, “Kano State Hisbah Board is aware that its Facebook page has been hacked and inappropriate things are being shared.”

Kano Hisbah is the agency that enforces moral regulations within the Islamic law in the state.

The agency is known for its activities like destruction of alcoholic drinks, arrest of unmarried men and women in hotels within the state, as well as banning the use of mannequins by boutiques.

GWG.ng reports that the development on the Facebook Page of the Hisbah in Kano is bound to be an irony given the rage with which it pursues a puritanical society.
