Kenneth Okonkwo has suggested that Nigeria spends at least N805m to maintain each of the 469 members of the National Assembly going further to ask Peter Obi, Atiku, Tinubu, to step aside for new faces to guide the country’s political direction.

Former Spokesperson of the Labour Presidential Candidate and actor, Kenneth Okonkwo has stirred reactions on social media after he suggested that Peter Obi, Abubakar Atiku and President Bola Tinubu should step aside for new faces to guide the nation

Kenneth Okonkwo equally described the Tinubu-led- government as nepotistic, self-centred, and egocentric.

He equally said that the opposition leaders have equally failed to demonstrate leadership and they are more focused on the next election than on the welfare of the people.

Kenneth Okonkwo made these statements in an interview on Arise Television.

In his words, “I completely agree with you that we need new faces, 100%. And that is why I said that Atiku, Peter, Tinubu should step aside andthe reason is because the ruling party has failed, the opposition has failed.

“Are you aware that in the House of Representatives, you have more opposition members as representatives than the ruling class? If they had come together, and that’s why I said coming together to form a consolidated fortune before you even begin to talk about merger.”

While decrying the activities of the Tinubu-led-government amid the hardship in the nation, he questioned, What is the objective of the government? Security and welfare of the people.

“This president is in China, in a new presidential jet is unnecessary, while people are dying for security problems in Sokoto, in Maiduguri. And then you’re saying that is what should be done?

“This government is nepotistic and despotic. It is very self-centered and egocentric. All about itself.

“Well, you can see, the Senate president may declare that let the people that are protesting against hunger and hardship, while they will remain, why wouldn’t they be feasting?

“It costs Nigeria about 805 million naira to maintain one member of the National Assembly, while they are promising 840,000 naira a year for the worker that is actually the productive capacity of the nation.”

They just see “My Person, Winner” and if their person is not the winner, they wait for next election and many of them will die before the next election but they dont realise that. Others that survived will continue with the same stupidity. Democracy is a scam. We are outnumbered by stupid people.”
