Ibrahim Milgoma, the former Chairman of the Sokoto State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has passed away after a prolonged illness.

The news of the death of Ibrahim Milgoma was confirmed in a statement issued by the party on Wednesday.

Milgoma, who died on Tuesday, was remembered by the PDP as a highly respected leader whose contributions significantly shaped the political landscape in Sokoto State and Nigeria as a whole.

Describing his death as a “colossal loss,” the party highlighted Milgoma’s pivotal role in leading the Sokoto PDP to victory during the 2019 general election. “The late Ibrahim Milgoma was a distinguished gentleman and respected leader who contributed immensely to the development of Sokoto State and Nigeria in general,” the statement read.

The Sokoto PDP expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a leader they considered a father figure and a guiding force within the party. They prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus, and grant his family and the entire state the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss.

GWG.ng reports that the death of Ibrahim Milgoma is bound to further lower the morale of party members following the defeat in the 2023 governorship election in Sokoto State.
