Nigerians have taken to their social media spaces to react, after Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity and the Official Presidential Spokesperson, announced his decision to take an indefinite leave of absence from his official duties.

Ngelale cited pressing family health concerns as his reason for bowing out.

GWG.ng earlier reported that Ngelale communicated his decision in a memo addressed to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Friday.

He explained that the decision followed intense family consultations over the past few days, as a worsening medical situation at home required his immediate attention.

“This agonising decision was taken after significant consultations with my family over the past several days as a vexatious medical situation has worsened at home,” Ngelale stated in the leave letter.

Nigerians have since flooded the social media to voice thier thoughts on the development. See some reactions gathered by GWG.ng from X.com below:

@KadunaResident commented, “At 37, Ajuri Ngelale served as the spokesperson for the most disastrous regime in Nigeria’s history, responsible for causing immense pain to the people. As he approaches 40 and this administration draws to a close, how will he navigate the remaining years of his life, knowing that his credibility and reputation are irreparably damaged?

“It’s no surprise he’s taken “indefinite leave”-a move to avoid the peak of disgrace. This job seems fit for the truly shameless, like Bayo Onanuga, who needs retirement funds, or the boy crying on the APC stage, whose only career path involves political theft. He has escaped and will never come back to the villa. I wish him the best in the next phase.”

@Dapsijaiye said, “The production line of lies has collapsed. The guy is out of steam. He is expected to produce lies at lightning speed and he can no longer cope. The guy gave up!”

Tunde Adeparusi reacted, ‘The factory of falsehoods has finally run out of production, exhausting its entire inventory of lies.”

Olaudah Equiano said, “Bayo has finally succeeded in chasing oyibo pepper away from the Villa. Oyibo wen no sabi speak Yoruba.”

Hanteywhite opined, “Man is fed up of telling lies.”

Moses Okpogode said, “He has been pushed out, unable to bear it any longer. The respect and dignity that once came with that portfolio have been completely strangled and torn apart by the thugs and urchins in the @officialABAT administration.”
