Victor Moses Returns To English Football With Luton

Former Nigeria international, Victor Moses, has made a surprising return to English football by signing with Luton Town, a club recently relegated from the Premier League.

The 33-year-old Moses was a free agent after leaving Spartak Moscow earlier this summer and has now joined Luton Town, much to the excitement of both fans and the club’s management.

Moses, who was previously contracted to Chelsea from 2012 to 2021, initially joined Luton on a trial basis. During his time with the club, he impressed the coaching staff with his skills and performance in training sessions. He further showcased his abilities in a behind-closed-doors match, which convinced Luton’s manager, Rob Edwards, to offer him a contract.

Edwards spoke positively about Moses, stating, “Victor is one we’ve been talking to for quite a while. He trained with us last week and played 60 minutes in a behind-closed-doors game, and we decided because we think he’s able to come in and help us.” Edwards highlighted Moses’ versatility, noting that he can play on either side or as a number ten. He added, “He’s tactically aware and can provide some really good competition for us.”

Despite the excitement surrounding Moses’ arrival, Edwards stressed the need for Moses to adapt to the team’s tactics and style. He said, “I don’t want to put too much pressure on him and expect too much too soon. He’s not going to come in and start the games straight away. He’s got to get used to what we do and how we play, but he’s fit, he’s able to come in and affect it now, and he definitely makes the squad stronger.”

Moses brings a wealth of experience to Luton, having played a key role in Chelsea’s Premier League win in 2017 and Inter Milan’s Serie A triumph during the 2019-20 season, both under Antonio Conte. With his extensive career across various clubs and countries, including stints in Turkey and Russia, and 38 appearances for the Nigerian national team, Moses is set to make a significant impact in English football once again.
