Patience Jonathan Breaks Silence On Hubby’s 2027 Ambitions

Former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has shed light on her husband, Goodluck Jonathan’s plans regarding the 2027 presidential election.

GWG.ng reports that some political actors had been encouraging the former president to run for office again in 2027.

However, Patience Jonathan clarified that her husband has no intention of entering the 2027 presidential race. She explained that he has already served in the highest political office in Nigeria and no longer has any political ambitions.

While addressing the Greater Igbo Forum in Abuja, the former First Lady highlighted that Jonathan has held several important political positions in the past. She emphasized that he is now focused on supporting the government to help build a better Nigeria.

“My husband has reached the pinnacle of political office. What is he looking for again? We are not going in again,” she stated.

She also called on the Igbo people to come together and focus on the collective good rather than letting personal or political differences divide them. She expressed the importance of prioritizing the country, saying, “We should love this country more than ourselves. Because if you don’t love this country, what is the future of our children?”

Patience Jonathan further urged the Igbo community to set aside politics and work towards unity and development, adding, “Let us manage one another. Let us love ourselves. Let us be united and be our brother’s keepers.”
