Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, has showered praises on his junior colleague, Yul Edochie, for his undeniable talent and captivating on-screen presence.

Taking to his Instagram page, Kanayo shared a clip of himself alongside Yul on the set of their latest movie, commending the younger actor’s exceptional skills. He pointed out that, regardless of public opinion, no one can deny Yul’s ability to command attention through his performance.

“Hate or like him, @yuledochie, one thing you can’t take away from him is that he is a great performer who knows how to use his voice and body to express his artistic mien and candor. Kudos bro,” Kanayo wrote. He also hinted at the release of their film Until You Came on his YouTube channel, Kanayo O Kanayo TV, calling it a “must-watch.”

Yul Edochie, in turn, expressed his appreciation for working alongside the Nollywood legend. Sharing a photo of them on set, Yul described it as an honor and extended his well-wishes to Kanayo.

“On set. With the legendary Uncle KOK. @kanayo.o.kanayo. It’s always an honor to work with you, Sir. Long life and endless blessings, I wish you,” Yul captioned his post.

Interestingly, the rapport between the two stars hasn’t always been smooth. Back in 2021, Yul publicly called out Kanayo for editing him out of a video they shot with singer Flavour, expressing his disappointment. However, Kanayo quickly rectified the situation by uploading a new version of the video that included Yul, leading to a public apology from the younger actor for his earlier outburst.

Despite the controversies surrounding Yul’s personal life—particularly his second marriage to fellow actress Judy Austin—the actor continues to receive support from a select few in the industry. Though the scandal cost him endorsement deals and affected his standing in Nollywood, his artistic talents still attract collaborative opportunities.
