Dino Melaye Reacts to Suspension, Says “You Can’t Suspend Air”

Former Senator Dino Melaye has fired back at a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following his purported suspension from the party.

GWG.ng on Friday, reports that a faction within the Kogi State chapter of the PDP claimed that Melaye had been suspended over alleged anti-party activities.

In a swift response posted on his official X handle on Saturday, the outspoken politician, Melaye’s response appeared to be aimed directly at PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagun, whom he accused of being the root cause of the party’s issues. In the video accompanying his post, Melaye confidently stated, “Damagun is the source of PDP’s problems. He will fail.”

The video also featured former PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, laughing alongside Melaye as the former senator made light of the suspension claims.

Melaye’s remarks follow his recent suspension by the Ayetoro Gbede Ward 1 executive committee in Kogi State, who accused him of failing to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee. However, Melaye has continued to brush off the allegations, asserting his significance within the party.

As tensions continue to rise within the Kogi State PDP, all eyes are on the party leadership to see how they will address the growing internal conflict.
