Wike Mum On Demands, Flays Fubara Over Betrayal (Video)
In an appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today with Seun Okinbaloye, former Rivers State governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, strongly denied allegations that he demanded N100 billion from Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara whom he accused of betrayal.
Wike, who played a pivotal role in bringing Fubara to power claimed that the governor had turned his back on him and those who supported him as he expressed frustration over what he described as Fubara’s betrayal.
“They say I’m asking for N20 billion, N100 billion, he spreads lies against me. I brought you up, I put you here. Fubara abandoned those who labored for him,” Wike said during the interview.

The feud between Wike and Fubara began shortly after the latter assumed office. According to reports, Fubara accused Wike of asking for a percentage of government funds as a form of compensation for his support during the election. Wike, however, firmly denied these claims on live television, in his first public attempt of clearing the air on the issue.
When pressed to reveal what he had requested from Fubara, Wike dodged the question, refusing to provide a clear answer. Instead, Wike emphasised the betrayal of Fubara whom he accused of ingratitude and lack of loyalty.
The ongoing tension between the two have sparked widespread speculation, as Fubara’s administration appears to distance itself from Wike’s influence, despite the critical role Wike played in his election victory.
As the situation develops, Rivers State citizens and political analysts alike will be watching closely to see how this rift unfolds.
