NNPCL Threatens Dangote With Release Of Documents

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has warned that it may release documents proving its purchase of petrol from Dangote Refinery at ₦898 per litre, following conflicting claims between the two organizations.

GWG.ng reports that the controversy erupted after Dangote Refinery, which recently began loading petrol, refuted NNPCL’s disclosure that the fuel was sold at ₦898 per litre. Despite Dangote Refinery’s rejection of the claim, NNPCL remains adamant, stating it has documentation to back up its report. According to NNPCL, 70 of its trucks were loaded with fuel from the refinery on Sunday.

This brewing standoff has sparked significant public interest, especially after initial government projections suggested that fuel prices would drop with the entry of Dangote Refinery into the market.

The ongoing back-and-forth has only added to the uncertainty surrounding the future of fuel prices in the country and the threat of the release of the documents is bound to add another step in the intrigues between the NNPCL and Dangote Refinery over the sale of its petrol.
