Revealed! How PDP NWC Gifted Rivers Exco To Wike

The erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan has called out the acting national chairman of the party, Ambassador Iliya Damagum for putting the party into ridicule by compromising the party for the benefit of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Speaking in an interview, Ologbondiyan alleged that the PDP national leadership violated court orders in denying loyalists of Governor Simi Fubara the forms to contest the recent congress elections despite paying for the forms and as such allowing supporters of Wike to run unopposed.

Ologbondiyan chastised the PDP leadership for erring in the tradition of recognizing the governor of Rivers State, Simi Fubara as the leader of the party in the state.

He said:

“The leadership of any organization determines the shape, culture and the attitude of members of that organization.

“The organ that is responsible for ensuring that party members fall into line, that has the whip in the National Assembly or the State Assembly is the leadership of the party under Ambassador Iliyasu Damagun.”

Noting how Engr David Umahi was called to order by the Prince Uche Secondus leadership of the PDP, Ologbondiyan said:

“When the former governor of Ebonyi State now minister of works, Engr David Umahi was –dallying with the APC, the National Working Committee under Prince Uche Secondus queried Engr Umahi and asked for explanation on why he was relating with the APC

“Instead of Ambassador Damagum to address the questions that we are facing, all that they are doing is to be organizing shoddy congresses across the country and be claiming that they are helping the party. But I believe that with the anger in the land and particularly among the members of the party who are nursing the fear that the country may end up as a one-party state given the approach of Chief Nyesom Wike.

“I know that Ambassador Iliyasu Damagum will very soon go and take up his seat as deputy national chairman of the PDP and allow the North Central produce the new chairman.”

“The congresses all over the country were challenged but the one that is most disturbing is what happened in Rivers State where because of the division in the party those who belong to the Fubara camp paid for forms to contest positions in the party but were not issued forms.

“The matter went to court and the court decided, hold down the congresses…

“It would interest you to know that they are going across the country if you don’t align they suspend you.”
