Jay Jay Okocha Gives Ruling On Messi vs Ronaldo GOAT Debate

Former Super Eagles star Austin Jay Jay Okocha has shared his views on the ongoing debate about who is the greater footballer: Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to be reckoned as the GOAT.

Okocha considers both players as “GOATs” (Greatest of All Time), but he personally favors Messi as his “GOAT.”

In an interview with Pulse Nigeria, Okocha expressed his admiration for Messi’s style of play. He explained that Messi seems more natural to him, saying, “They are both GOATs but my personal GOAT is Messi because he looks more natural to me.”

The debate over who is the GOAT between the 36-year-old Argentine Messi and the 39-year-old Portuguese Ronaldo continues to spark discussions among football fans worldwide. Both players have demonstrated extraordinary skill and talent throughout their careers, winning a combined total of 13 Ballon d’Or awards—Messi with 8 and Ronaldo with 5.

Despite their impressive accomplishments, neither Messi nor Ronaldo was nominated for this year’s Ballon d’Or, prompting speculation about the potential end of their dominant era in football.
